What is Mommy Assist?
We provide on-demand assistants, called Assisters, who help moms accomplish their to-do list, so Moms can focus on the things that matter to them.
Why Use MommyAssist?
Parents simply never have enough hours in the day. From the demands of working AND getting kids ready for school, to unexpected family matters, prepping for a trip, planning a birthday party or just day-to-day household management, we all need help. We can do just that! Having an assist means you get time back to focus on things that matter to you.
Who can use the services?
Although our services are designed with Moms in mind, our assistance is available to dads, grandmas and anyone who needs help managing those tasks that never seem to end.
How does it work?
We offer assistance in hourly increments or multi-hour packages for larger projects. We can do this one time, or assign an Assister to provide service on a regular, repeating basis.
MommyAssists can be ordered from our service menu on our site or by calling 310.374.5467 a minimum of 24 hours in advance, We may be able to accommodate you within 24 hours for a rush charge (call to inquire). Upon order confirmation, a MommyAssist team member will reach out with any questions. A trained and background-checked Assister will be assigned to your task and arrive as requested.
We ask our clients to be prepared with what they would like done, or have a general idea of where they need assistance. Our team will consult upon arrival and advise what they can complete.If you have multiple tasks you need help with, we ask that you prioritize them. Estimated times to complete a task are described in our service menu.
Do you take care of kids?
As much as we love kids (we’re moms too!), MommyAssist services do not cover child care.
Are all rooms in the house covered?
Bathrooms, anywhere, are excluded from our services. We do not assist with any bathroom cleanup,
What does light cleaning mean?
We are not a housecleaning service; we consider ourselves to be more like personal assistants and housekeepers - the ones that help you manage your house, keep things moving and can help you keep things in order in between your house cleaning. That said, we can dust, wipe down surfaces, sweep or spray mop, make beds. We do not deep clean. Our Assisters will advise if they feel anything is not hygienic and outside the scope of duties at the beginning of service.
What is the service territory?
We're available in much of Los Angeles' South Bay (Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Lawndale, Rolling Hills, Palos Verdes, El Segundo, San Pedro, Lomita, Carson). Sign up for our email list to be notified of new coverage areas.
What are your hours?
Our hours are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Sunday service can be arranged for specialty assists contingent on availability.
How is payment handled?
Payment is made upon booking and prior to your assist. Money will be fully refunded if cancelled 24 hours in advance of service; if cancelled after that, there will be a $25 late cancellation charge.
Orders placed online can be paid via PayPal, but we accept Venmo too. Call us at 310.374.5467 to place a Venmo order.
We do not accept cash or checks or payment at time of the assist, although you can tip your Assister in cash or via the MommyAssist VenMo or PayPal.
WORKING WITH AN ASSISTER
How do you select Assisters?
All of our Assisters are experienced in and knowledgeable of mom life. Most are moms themselves! All have either personal assistant, service industry or childcare experience and are background checked to ensure safety for all our clients and their families. They are also trained to deliver high quality services in a consistent fashion. For example, we fold in a way that makes items easy to pull from drawers. That's the MommyAssist difference!
Can I request the same Assister as last time?
You can! We will do our best to accommodate the request, but cannot guarantee it. Just put it in the notes at time of order or call us.
Am I charged for my Assister's travel time?
No. Assisters live within 3 miles of the service area. Your Assist begins once your Assister arrives at your home or location for a pick-up/drop-off. This excludes ErrandAssist, which are travel based services.
What if I want my assister to stay longer and complete additional tasks?
If an Assist is going longer than expected and the Assister does not have another appointment directly after yours, the assist can continue and you will be charged for the additional time. Please note we charge in 30 minute increments ($15 per 30 minutes) after the initial service time is completed.
What if the assist takes longer that I scheduled for?
Not to worry, our Assister will notify you in advance if she does not feel your service request can be completed in the time scheduled. If you choose to keep the service going, and the Assister does not have another assist scheduled, you will be charged via your original payment method. Please note we charge in 30 minute increments ($15 per 30 minutes) after the initial service time is completed.
How do I contact my Assister?
Communication is managed by our office team and they will ensure that your Assister receives any details necessary. You will receive text information after your order is placed and you can always email info@mymommyassist.com or call the MommyAssist main line as well, at 310.374.5467.
SERVICE DETAILS
How do you handle payments for ErrandAssist needs?
Tasks that require Assisters to manage payments or money handling will be managed via pre-payment to Assister via prepaid Gift Card, Cash, Venmo or Paypal. Assisters will not be able to purchase anything for clients in advance of receiving payment to purchase. Unused funds are, of course, transferred back to clients.
Are there travel charges on ErrandAssist?
Errands within 3 miles of your house or site of the Assist are included in the hourly rates. If errands beyond 3 miles are needed, a gas charge of .50 per mile will apply.
Does the Assister provide materials on services that involved light cleaning?
Out of respect for our customers and their preferences, we ask that you provide necessary supplies for the Assister upon arrival for your assist.
Can I customize an assist?
Of course! Please be sure to detail out your specific needs in advance of your appointment when setting this up and our Service Manager will contact you directly to ensure we understand your needs and get the job done right. If for whatever reason we can’t do it, we’ll tell you that too. Remember, we don’t take care of kids - but we do take care of moms.

We’re looking for friendly Assisters who have experience as nannies, certified food preparers (or just love to cook), organizing, or are moms themselves who understand the demands of motherhood. Assisters get paid more than minimum wage, set their own schedule and can select which service categories they wish to work in.
